In The Mood - Glenn Miller
In the mood to get groovy and have some fun? How about some soft but yet upbeat music to fill the4 space in your living room? That’s the whole purpose of having instrumental music that we can simply just listen to and enjoy. There is a lot of things I like about this music, and then there is also things I don’t really enjoy. To start, I love the way that the music makes you feel as all the instruments come together in perfect harmony. It is also really fun to just get up and dance along to some good ol’jazz music!
However, I have to be honest in these posts. I don’t really enjoy music that doesn’t have any lyrics because I enjoy a good story that can be told through a song. I fell with instrumental you can make your own story as you do whatever along with it, but a good artist singing a story is the most beautiful thing. Glenn Miller defiantly does a great job in combining the wonderful sounds in his mini band to make such a fun but yet chill sound.
I personally am really grooving to this song but it is a vibe so I can definitely understand why not everyone would vibe to it. It makes me picture a casino in 1950 with everyone either dancing or shooting dice overall just hanging out. I'm enjoying this music with the repetition with slight differences in each round. For the modern scene I could absolutely see this song being used in a commercial or advertisement of some kind. This song is just a classic example of a groovy rhythmic jazz song that everyone at the time enjoyed.
