My Girl - The Temptations

This song in my opinion is one of the hands down best songs ever written and preformed! The lyrics wrote into this song are so perfectly organized and the musical background helps the words have that much more meaning. For me, the best part of this song is its relatability to pretty much everyone. There isn’t a person who can’t relate to the lyrics that are sang and then apply them into their life in some way. The other really great part about this song is all of the usage deep bass to help the listener get more involved in the song. In most songs especially back in those days the writers would use loud instruments to get the listeners attention and hold it, this song however is an exception. The deep bass that draws the beat is super catchy and cool, because of it there is no need for loud instruments.

  1. Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this song! This song is definitely a classic hit. I liked how you mentioned that the background music helps the words have more meaning. I agree with you. I didn't think about it before, but listening a second time, it is evident that the music and lyrics work extremely well together. This complimentary relationship helps the song have a better overall feel.

  2. This is such a great classic song! Every time I listen to this song I just want to snap my fingers to the beat and move my body to the rhythm. I don't really like when all the instruments, finger snapping and the singer's voice all join forces. It was just too much going on for me, it was kind of over whelming I wanted to lower the volume a little bit there. I think it is the violins that caused this lol

  3. I enjoyed the connection you made between the relatability of the song and how that applies to everyone, but it would have made more of an impact if you gave a couple of examples backed with the lyrics. Other than that, I enjoyed the depth you went into when discussing the sound of the song and the different instruments.

  4. I have to agree with the others that commented. This song is definitely a classic! I really loved all of your points. I also feel like the organization and placement of lyrics vs. the instrumentation is really well thought out. The deep bass definitely caught my attention right off the bat. Great job!
