Jamming With Jams

        I think we can all agree that Elvis Presley was one of the greatest musicians of all time. He wrote some of the most classical songs in the world and was adored by everyone he sang too. This particular song is one of his best in my opinion and has the catchiest beat and melody there is. Elvis’s voice matched with a upbeat tempo and good lo fashioned attitude make for a dancing, fun, sing along jazzy song. The music itself is particularly interesting because it sounds as though there is a million things going on but its really not that complicated. There is a very jazzy and payed back feel to the music that I feel was made to be danced along to. In the lyrics he is singing about someone just crying all the time and how they are a hound dog haha. He is obviously directing it towards someone but that doesn’t seem to be really clear.       Man oh man do I love Frank Sinatra! This is actually one of my favorite singers of all time and every single one of his songs are truly fantastic. With this song “Nancy (With a Laughing Face)” this is a very calm jazzy love song for this gal that Frank seems to be crazy about. He always has the smoothest vocals and the soft jazz playing in the background. Specifically in this song he is bragging about how awesome Nancy is and how nobody else in the whole world could ever possibly compare to her; and I quote “even if she had a sister” haha. The best part for me about his music is the pure confidence that Frank sings with, almost every word and beat if the music just makes you feel as if this story was happening to you and its so easy to believe every word he sings. By far he is one of my favorite artists to have ever written, preformed, or sing . 

           In the mood to get groovy and have some fun? How about some soft but yet upbeat music to fill the4 space in your living room? That’s the whole purpose of having instrumental music that we can simply just listen to and enjoy. There is a lot of things I like about this music, and then there is also things I don’t really enjoy. To start, I love the way that the music makes you feel as all the instruments come together in perfect harmony. It is also really fun to just get up and dance along to some good ol’jazz music!      However, I have to be honest in these posts. I don’t really enjoy music that doesn’t have any lyrics because I enjoy a good story that can be told through a song. I fell with instrumental you can make your own story as you do whatever along with it, but a good artist singing a story is the most beautiful thing.       Cheek to Cheek...How much more romantic can you get? This is personally one of my favorite generes of music. The smooth jazz music with soft vocals almost make it impossible to not get up and dance along with the music! There are two aspects of this type of music that I think are very distinct and original that you can’t find in to many other types of generes of music. The 1st, the soft speaking singing voice. It seems almost as though when Fred is singing he is simply having a conversation with the person he is singing too. It flows so beautifully and exactly with the music in the background.      The 2nd, and I personally think is even better is the vast usage of instruments throughout the song. There are so many different movements of music, rhythms, and sounds that all come together to make such a beautiful piece. Starting Over - Chris Stapleton       This beautiful piece of music made by Chris Stapleton is one of the top country songs on the charts right now. Every time he produces new music it is always captivating and moving, but in this newest song he takes it to a whole new level. The different tempos of the song with his voice and the way he uses an old soul sounding beat with lyric grabs the listener in and doesn’t let them move. The consistent and smooth sound of the guitar and sand shaker make the song very mellow and relaxing while Chris’s voice sounds like a man telling a story to his children. My favorite part during this whole piece is the raspiness that comes through his voice in some of the most powerful moments in the song.     Chris Stapleton has a powerhouse voice, but even better than that is the fact that he is the writer behind all of his top songs.
